Well, here we are. 2019 has now come and gone, marking the end of a decade. Crazy how time flies as you get older.
I hope everyone had a good Christmas or whichever holiday you celebrate and were able to enjoy the last days of 2019. It was a fairly productive year for myself when it comes to DA, with the launch of the Creamocchia reboot, but outside of that and enjoying a bunch of new games and movies, 2019 was pretty much the same old stuff when it came to RL things like most years have been for me recently. Life being a little uneventful is not something I'm going to worry about though, so I shall continue to focus on the now rather than the later. It's worked for me so far and it's the mindset I'm sticking with.

So with a new journal comes some updates to what's next for doing stuff here on DA. There's not a ton to talk about, so it won't be a lengthy entry.

The Adventures of Creamocchia - Part 2

As planned since the beginning, the Creamocchia story shall continue to be the primary focus of my DA page. Part 1 of the reboot took up nine months of work and I'm overall pretty satisfied with how it turned out. Now the story currently feels like the version of the tale I can say that I don't look back on and wish I did it differently. I'm happier with how events played out this time and the new chapters were something I didn't plan from the beginning but enjoyed doing. With the first part now caught up to where the original left off, expect Part 2 to focus on entirely new content which I'm excited to get around to when the time is right. Expect a few more new characters and possibly a shorter length than Part 1. After writing twenty-six chapters for nearly a year, I don't want Part 2 to take nearly as long if I can help it. Sometimes when new ideas come to my head, chapters can go on for longer than I expect. Though Part 1 involved a ton of back and forth between the original version due to wanting to improve upon what was there before. Part 2 in that sense may end up being easier to write for.

There's no confirmed date to when Part 2 will begin production, but I will begin once I feel there is enough material planned out and when I can confirm a chapter-length. To the small fanbase of the story, I hope you all look forward to Part 2 as much as I am to write it :)

Returning to Digital Art

2019 was the year that I felt truly inspired again for art, more so than I've ever felt before. The buildup began once I started reading the new IDW Sonic comic series back when it first came out in 2018 and have been collecting it ever since. Seeing the talents by so many great artists the comic brings along was just the beginning to me appreciating art a lot more. The series is my favourite piece of Sonic storytelling in a long time by the way and is worth the read if you are a big Sonic fan.

Then seeing the amount of fan art on social media was what finally set things in stone for what I want to achieve for 2020. Start learning art again and this time, go the route of learning it properly. For some who see my part art and ask, "what do you mean by that?" here's your answer. My past experience with art relied heavily on models I had to pose to use as a visual reference to draw from, which was extremely limiting. Back then I wasn't confident in my skills to learn from scratch. College can be blamed for that as art was a requirement in my classes back then and being put under pressure to get it done for an assignment killed any chance of me ever wanting to get good at it. Being the worst artist in the class didn't help either.

But years later, I'm under no such pressure and have been given a huge boost in motivation. I've spent most of 2019 saving up for a new tablet and finally achieved that in December. I wanted a new one anyway and with wanting to learn digital art being an extra incentive. I now am the owner of a new iPad Pro and hopefully within two weeks time, an Apple Pencil. I'm serious in wanting to learn digital art now, so I wanted to go with the option most digital artists recommend. Trying it out at Apple stores helped with the decision too. It certainly wasn't a cheap investment, that's for sure!

In the meantime whilst I was saving up, I did attempt art again using a mouse and keyboard and the Paint.Net program, and the results are what you see here.

While they are anything but good pieces of art, I felt like I learnt a little something each time. Wanting to draw Cream was something I always planned on learning first since she is my favourite Sonic girl. Not being in the games very much throughout the 2010s was a small part of what elevated her to my favourite Sonic girl, and wanting to show my love for the character via art is something I wish to do throughout 2020 alongside other Sonic characters I love. Once I feel more comfortable in drawing Cream in particular, expect some Creamocchia themed art from myself at some point too. I really want to do that.

So art will be a bigger focus than before this year and I can't wait to finally dive in and learn the proper way. Especially for the sake of the worlds cutest bunny :3
A long and tough road is no doubt approaching, but I'll gladly take the challenge!

That wraps up this first journal of the year. Not sure if there will be a lot of these this year, but I'll be active more than I've ever been in the past now with art being a big focus alongside the continuation of Creamocchia. I'm so excited to take the next step in expressing my ideas for you all.

I hope everyone had an enjoyable 2019 and will have an even better 2020.

With all of Part 1 of The Adventures of Creamocchia all uploaded, I want to thank everyone who has been supporting the rebooted series from the day the first lot of chapters came out, or if you joined in sometime after that. I've always been someone who does what he does for fun and not fame and has stuck by that. The fact that people out there have been enjoying the story despite this is something I will always be grateful for. To be able to enjoy what I do and having the bonus of some fans of it makes it feel rewarding. So thank you :)

As I explained in the previous journal, The Adventures of Creamocchia is aimed to be a 3-part story and I'm sticking by that. This makes it a lot easier on myself to plan ahead the rest of the story and give people enough content to keep them coming back. So rather than take a long break after only 1 chapter, I think this approach will be the better one.

Part 2 is planned to be released sometime in 2020, hopefully early in the year. I know that sounds like a while, and it is, but I'm aiming for quality with this story, so the wait is something I aim to make worth it.

As for the length of Part 2 compared to Part 1, my current plan is that it will be shorter than the previous. No idea how many chapters in length it's going to be, but I can say for sure that I already know how the last arc of Part 2 is going to go down and how it will end. It's something that I cannot wait to get to and gets me excited just thinking about it.

So what plans do I have whilst Part 2 is in production? Well as I mentioned in the last journal, I'm considering some side projects in the meantime. For now, short stories set in the main Sonic universe are a possibility, but what I definitely plan to do is get back to art.

My current plans for art is to save up for a new iPad that supports the Apple Pencil 2, which I have demoed several times and loved. I've had a blast with it and know that it's the method I'd like to have to return to art again.

If you recall the art piece I did some time ago, (which is below) this was done all with a mouse and keyboard. While I found the final results to be ok-ish, much to the thanks of Zack113's guidance, the feeling of drawing on a mouse was far from comfortable.

So rather than drawing on the mouse again, I'm saving up for however long it takes to get a far greater drawing experience. So while art is something I probably won't try again for a while, it's something I'm going to take more seriously if the time comes.

That about covers it for this short entry. Thank you all once again for supporting this little series of mine, and to anyone new to it, I hope you find it to be a fun read :)
I'll still be around during the break for the Creamocchia series, so I'll try and keep things going here when I can.

Till next journal everyone :)

Hello to all my current watches old and new. It's been a long time since the last entry which was back in October last year and it's great to be able to finally write a new entry again.
Life's been pretty busy on my end in both real life and here on DA. But you all want to hear about the DA stuff I'm sure, and that's exactly what I'll be doing. Because after nine months of production, the reboot of Creamocchia, specifically Part 1 of it, is finally ready to be released and I've been looking forward to this a lot. So let's get into a few announcements alongside the main reason this journal is being made.

____________________________________________________________

The Adventures of Creamocchia Reboot - Part 1 release window

So when can you expect the release of the reboot to begin? Well, I'm glad to announce that it will be starting this upcoming August. That'll give me time to make sure everything is ready to go along with the title card for each chapter, which is currently in the works via an artist I have commissioned. I want this to look nice and presentable on release and will be willing to wait until it's done. From what I've seen from its current progress, it's looking pretty awesome. Keep in mind however that if you are using the Eclipse version of the website, you will not see the title art on each chapter which for me personally is a reason not to use Eclipse until that feature is added.

So you might be wondering, "what do you mean by Part 1?"
I have decided to make a change to how I release chapters for the story going forward. Rather than release one chapter at a time and make people wait for however long it takes for a new chapter to come out, they will be created in chunks so that once I feel a certain chapter is a good point to end on, you will get a good amount of new chapters in segments.

Part 1 of the reboot will consist of 26 chapters, which is seven chapters longer than the original Creamocchia story. Two of the new chapters will be brand new for the reboot and the rest will be chapters from the original that were extended from before to improve the pacing and add new scenes. The majority of this reboot was completely re-written from the ground up, but the story remains mostly the same as before with some changes I will be listing off sometime after all of Part 1 is uploaded.

As of now, the entire Creamocchia story is planned to be released in three parts. Each part will vary in chapter length, so don't expect 26 chapters every time.

As soon as the title art is complete, I will be putting out release dates for the chapters. And yes, I said to release "dates" with an S at the end. Here's why.

Due to the length of Part 1, I will be releasing the chapters slowly so that it gives readers enough time to catch up with the story should they be busy with their own schedules. Releasing every single chapter on day one would be daunting for many, and that's what I want to avoid. There will be days where two chapters will be released at most, and others more than that. It will vary depending on the story being told in the chapters.

That's about it for the reboot's release window. So let's move onto some other topics.

Returning to Art

Some may recall the recent artwork I posted some time ago, which was of Cream in her regular design. The reason for this is because I've been hit with the art bug over these past few months and I'd like to get back to it after a long absence.

However, it will probably be some time before I dive into it as I am planning to start saving up for the tools I'd like to begin art with. I'm looking to go in the direction of digital art and I'm currently thinking of getting a tablet for doing so. Due to how costly these things are, it could take many months to accomplish that, but I'd rather this so that in the meantime I can focus on writing which is my main skill. Some would say, just do it on a pen and paper. But digital art is where I really want to go, so this is just me being stubborn.

It may be a while until I start taking art seriously, but good things come to those who wait as they say.

DA name change

I've been wanting to do this for the longest time. My MSP169 name was created back when I started DA and wanted to think of a random name without any creative thought into it. I just wanted to get started back then and didn't care much for what the name was.

Nowadays it just doesn't sit well with me and I'm finally wanting to evolve it into something that feels more fitting for my DA page. So in the following weeks, expect me to go under a new username that I will be planning on coming up with over the next several days.

____________________________________________________________

Other projects

When I first started the Creamocchia series, my original plan was to make this account basically the "Creamocchia Channel" as it is my main passion project.
In recent months I realise that won't do my page much good as the series only has a very tiny fanbase. So in order to add some variety here, expect me to experiment with other smaller projects in the downtime between parts of Creamocchia. They will all be focused on our favourite SEGA rabbit of course, so the theme of this page is still Cream related. Creamocchia will always be the prime focus, but other Cream art and stories may be coming in the future.

____________________________________________________________

That's pretty much all that needs to be said for this journal entry. It's taken over half a year, but at long last, I'm almost ready to release this reboot to you all. This project is one I've loved creating and I hope that fellow Cream the Rabbit fans will get some enjoyment out of it.

For those who read the original story, I hope the new addictions will be something worthwhile for you. As for new readers, I hope you enjoy what is to come :)

That's all from me. Expect the release dates for Part 1 soon and the future projects. See you then!

Hello all. Been some time, huh? How have all of you been? Not sure how many of you lot are still here since I've been on a long absence, but to those that are still watching me, I hope you have all been well.

I'm sure at least a couple of you have questions about where I've been and what is happening with the Creamocchia series right now. So let's discuss just that.

* * * * *

Where I've been

Life. Can get right in the way, can't it? But the main reason is that I've also been busy trying to improve my own writing skills. On another DA account, I own, I've been writing many stories on there as a way to get my writing skills up to snuff as well as please others. I had so many stories to do and still do, that they became a bigger priority over writing Creamocchia on here, given that the audience on my other account is far bigger in comparison. I had to meet the expectations of the masses basically. But all during then I've wanted to come back to Creamocchia rather badly, as it is the very story that made me want to become a writer in the first place.

So basically I've been rather occupied. But I want to try and balance out both my DA accounts a lot better in the new year.

* * * * *

The status of the Creamocchia Series

The good news is that the series is not dead. I made a promise to myself that I would plan to complete this series someday and I'm sticking by that promise. But in my downtime, I've been trying to improve my writing quality, which I want to take into effect with Creamocchia going forward. So to reflect on my years of self-teaching, I do plan on doing something with the old chapters first before finally writing the next one.

So first off, a bunch of the earlier chapters will be going through a big update. I plan on fixing the alignment of paragraphs, adding a little more moments to certain chapters, adding an extra chapter early on in the story and even changing two characters. So there will be a lot of work to go through.

First, the character changes. I've had a long think about it, and I've decided that I will be changing Honest Prower and Blazy Kat. The reason? They are based on Tails and Blaze who in the main games are good people, which isn't quite the case with the Creamocchia story. Originally, they were going to be the parents of the Tails and Blaze from the games, but with time I've realised that's a lame idea. So these characters will become new original ones in this big update, of which you will find out about when the big update hits.

As for the brand new Chapter, it will take place before the ending of Chapter 3, whilst the original Chapter 3 ending will be the ending of the new chapter. The main reason why this is happening is that I want to give Vanilla more time to interact with the Green Hill folk who were present when she decided she would make something out of the fallen tree, which becomes Creamocchia. More about this chapter will be revealed when it's done.

The original Chapter 4 which will now be Chapter 5 will be going through some changes as well. I'll be heavily re-writing the dialogue as it was all too similar to a certain other film if you catch my drift? I want to be rid of my early writing woes and make the dialogue more original and a lot better. The rest of the chapter will play out as normal.

That's most of the changes so far. I feel that in order to get myself in the right mindset to bring this series back for the 20th Chapter, this big update is necessary. The writing from the earlier chapters to the current one shows that the quality of my writing starts kinda eh, then slowly gets a little better, so I want to update this series by making the writing as consistent to my current style as much as possible. This will also be a test to see if an audience for this series still exists. I want to keep writing this story until the end regardless of how tiny my audience for this story is, but knowing how many still want this to continue would be extra helpful.

* * * *

That's pretty much it. Creamocchia is going to eventually be coming back and thus will I eventually. I apologise to the audience I have for having to wait this long. But I feel that this downtime will be worth it in the end as I have been trying to improve my writing in general. Hope you lot all are looking forward to the eventual return of this series in due time. I know I am.

Take care and see you all soon.

Hey there everyone. Been a little while huh?

Feels like ages ago since I did anything on here. I apologise for yet again leaving you guys in the dust. Life's been busy with plenty of things going on, so I thought i'd keep you updated on what's going on. It'll only be a short journal this time.

Production on Chapter 19 of Creamocchia is finally in the works. I can't promise when it will come out, but If I can keep up the pace then I'd like to say sometime near the end of the week. This chapter shouldn't be a tough one for me to write as this will be a fun one that won't be split into multiple parts. In fact, the next couple of chapters shouldn't have storylines that take multiple chapters to tell for a good while. Multi-part storylines will happen again in the future of the story, but for now, it will be some stories that can be told in just the one chapter.

Nothing new for the art side of things. I don't really know what to draw for the story right now, so I'm gonna focus more on the chapters themselves as they are the most important.

That's about it for this one. Short journal as I stated, but I'm gonna do my best to get back to making Creamocchia again as much as I can. Having a motivational boost is what I'm trying to find to help me towards finding the mood to write.

See you all again soon along with Chapter 19 :)
